Authenticated service interruption via oversized ssid_an POST value
Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024
Stack overflow in bridge_wireless_main.cgi in NETGEAR XR300 Firmware 1.0.3.78 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt router service. The CGI handler copies an oversized ssid_an POST value into a stack buffer without enforcing its size bound. Adjacent-network access and a low-privilege router login are required; the published impact is limited to denial of service.
