CVE-2024-50999

Authenticated command execution via sysNewPasswd shell injection

Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024

Command injection in NETGEAR R8500 firmware 1.0.2.160 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands. The password.cgi handler incorporates attacker-controlled sysNewPasswd input into command execution without neutralizing shell syntax.
