Stack overflow in NETGEAR R8500, XR300, R7000P, and R6400 v2 firmware allows remote authenticated users to crash routers via a crafted POST request. The pptp.cgi handler copies an oversized pptp_user_ip parameter into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length. Access from an adjacent network to the authenticated management interface is required; successful exploitation interrupts routing service.
