Price manipulation via unchecked cart quantity addition
Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated Dec 28, 2024
Integer overflow in SimplCommerce at commit 230310c8d7a0408569b292c5a805c459d47a1d8f allows remote attackers to manipulate cart prices. AddToCart accepts a positive 32-bit quantity, then adds it to the stored CartItem.Quantity without checking whether the sum exceeds the signed integer limit. No authentication or user interaction is required; adding 2,147,483,647 units and then one more wraps the persisted quantity and calculated total price negative.
