Insecure permissions in Silicon Labs Z-Wave Series 500 SDK 6.84.0 and earlier allow attackers to deny controller service via malformed packets. The controller accepts and validates crafted Z-Wave frames without preserving permission restrictions, allowing malformed payloads to trigger denial of service. Exploitation requires physical proximity within 40 to 100 meters and specialized radio hardware; the documented consequence is service interruption.
