CVE-2024-50930Public exploit

Controller service interruption via rogue node injection

Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Dec 11, 2024

Insecure permissions in Silicon Labs Z-Wave Series 500 SDK 6.84.0 and earlier allow physically proximate attackers to interrupt controllers. The controller accepts a malformed NEW NODE REGISTERED command and adds 235 rogue devices to its memory without authorization. The attacker must be within Z-Wave radio range; the resulting resource exhaustion blocks enrollment of valid devices, while the public technical account does not demonstrate arbitrary code execution.
