Authentication bypass via login query injection
Published May 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Best House Rental Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to bypass login authentication. The login.php handler interprets username input as SQL syntax; a tautology followed by a comment makes the credential query succeed with any password. No account or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is access past the login boundary rather than arbitrary database access.
