Authenticated JavaScript execution via stored rule fields
Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Oct 20, 2025
Stored XSS in RWS WorldServer 11.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary JavaScript through crafted rule fields. The Rules page stores the Rule name and Parameter subject without neutralizing script input, then renders it when Execute Now is clicked. A high-privileged account must save the rule and a user must trigger it, exposing the executing user's browser session to script-driven data access or actions.
