Reflected XSS via unencoded login error parameter
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Reflected XSS in M2000 Smart4Web before 5.020241004 allows remote attackers to execute script through the login error URL parameter. The /smart4web/ login page inserts the error value from index.jsp into its HTML response without adequate output encoding. A victim must open the crafted URL; the resulting script runs in that user's browser and can display a fake login form, capture entered credentials, or redirect the user.
