Traffic interception and modification via ignored certificate errors
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated Mar 4, 2025
Improper certificate validation in Sungrow iSolarCloud Android App 2.1.6.20241104 and earlier allows attackers to intercept or modify cloud traffic. The app explicitly ignores SSL/TLS certificate validation errors, so it accepts an impersonated iSolarCloud server and exchanges data with it. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position on the app's network path; the documented impact is unauthorized access to or manipulation of app-cloud data.
