Remote code execution via client-side-only upload validation
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in iPublish Media AdPortal 3.0.39 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through obituary attachments. The obituary-creation workflow enforces file-type requirements only in client-side controls, while the server accepts attacker-chosen file types and makes them browser-accessible. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation provides code execution in the affected application context.
