CVE-2024-50652Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file upload via unrestricted avatar field

Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024

Unrestricted file upload in geeeeeeeek Java Shop 1.0 allows attackers to store arbitrary files through the profile avatar update endpoint. The profile-update POST accepts an avatar part with a non-image filename and application/octet-stream content without enforcing an image type. Public assessments disagree on whether authentication or user interaction is required; the demonstrated consequence is an attacker-chosen file write.
