Remote crash via zero-length request dereference
Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Denial of service in Fluent Bit 3.1.9 allows remote attackers to crash the server through the Prometheus Remote Write endpoint. process_payload_metrics_ng() passes a NULL payload created by Content-Length: 0 to cfl_sds_len(), which dereferences it while casting it to struct cfl_sds. The Prometheus Remote Write input plugin must be enabled and network-accessible; repeated requests repeatedly terminate the Fluent Bit process.
