CVE-2024-50591Public exploit

SYSTEM privilege escalation via named-pipe command injection

Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Command injection in HASOMED Elefant Software Updater before 1.4.2.1811 allows local users to execute commands as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. The Elefant Update Service passes the unfiltered first parameter of a MessageType.SupportServiceInfos named-pipe message to a command sink after splitting it at semicolons. Any local Windows user able to send the crafted message can use an ampersand-delimited payload to run arbitrary commands with SYSTEM privileges.
