Browser script execution via unsafe markdown rendering
Published Oct 28, 2024 · Updated Oct 28, 2024
Cross-site scripting in JetBrains YouTrack before 2024.3.47707 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser. Markdown parsing and a custom rendering rule fail to neutralize attacker-controlled content before it is rendered as a web page. A low-privileged account must supply the content and another user must view it; successful exploitation executes script in the viewing user's application context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
