CVE-2024-50572Network attack vector

Root shell access via unsanitized input

Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Feb 11, 2025

Command injection in Siemens SCALANCE and RUGGEDCOM firmware before 8.2 or 3.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain a root shell. Siemens identifies only an unspecified input field and does not publish the field, handler, or downstream command-construction path. Administrative privileges are required, and successful injection executes code with root authority on the appliance.
