Root code execution via unvalidated system call
Published Feb 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
OS command injection in Fortinet FortiWeb 7.4.0 through 7.4.5 and 7.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root. The cgi_grpc_idl_file_post function passes a user-supplied string to a system call without proper validation. Administrator privileges and a crafted API request are required, after which arbitrary commands run in the root context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
