Firmware-update and web-service disruption via exposed files
Published Jun 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Improper file access in Schneider Electric Modicon M340 products allows remote attackers to disrupt firmware updates and web service. The device filesystem exposes specific firmware-update and web-server files or directories to external deletion. Network access to the affected file service is sufficient; deletion can block firmware updates or impair the embedded web server without stopping controller operation.
