Integrity compromise via certificate filename traversal
Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Path traversal in Siemens SCALANCE M-800 and RUGGEDCOM RM1224 firmware before 8.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter system integrity. The certificate-handling path fails to validate certificate filenames and appends attacker-controlled values outside the intended path. Exploitation requires an authenticated certificate workflow and user interaction; the published consequence is limited to system-integrity modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
