Authenticated code execution via phtml upload allowlist bypass
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in emlog Pro 2.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through the administration panel. The upload-type setting in admin/setting.php blocks strings containing php but accepts phtml, after which admin/media.php stores the executable payload. Administrator access is required, and successful exploitation installs a web-accessible PHP script that runs with the web server's privileges.
