Media disclosure via spoofed trusted User-Agent
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Authorization bypass in QNAP Media Streaming Add-on 500.1.x allows remote attackers on the local network to read stored media. Its HTTP parser treats spoofed AppleCoreMedia or QNAPDMC User-Agent values as trusted client types, causing request routing to omit the HTTP 401 denial. Unauthenticated access to TCP port 8200 is sufficient to browse ContentDirectory objects and download indexed media files, with no demonstrated write or service-interruption impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
