Remote code execution via case-check race
Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
TOCTOU race in affected Apache Tomcat releases allows remote attackers to execute code via concurrent reads and uploads of the same file. During JSP compilation, the concurrent operations bypass filename case checks and cause an uploaded file to be treated as a JSP. Exploitation requires a case-insensitive file system and the non-default write-enabled Default Servlet, with code running as the Tomcat process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
