Unauthenticated root command execution via edgserver
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Authentication bypass in Advantech EKI-6333AC models allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root through edgserver. The default edgserver service fails to authenticate command requests before executing the requested operating-system commands with root privileges. Affected releases are 1.6.3 and earlier for the -2G and -2GD and 1.2.1 and earlier for the -1GPO; exposure requires remote reachability to the enabled-by-default service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
