Root command execution via capture_packages injection
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
OS command injection in affected Advantech EKI-6333AC access points allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root. The default, unauthenticated edgserver service passes attacker-controlled capture_packages input into OS-command processing without neutralizing command elements. Network access to edgserver is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants complete command execution at root privilege.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
