Root command execution via restore_config_from_utility input
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
OS command injection in Advantech EKI-6333AC devices through 1.6.3 or 1.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The default unauthenticated edgserver service processes attacker-controlled restore_config_from_utility input without neutralizing OS command elements. Network reachability to edgserver is sufficient; successful exploitation grants root-level command execution that can read or alter device data or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
