Unauthenticated root command execution via backup operation
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
OS command injection in Advantech EKI-6333AC access points allows remote attackers to execute root commands through the default edgserver. Processing for the backup_config_to_utility operation passes attacker-controlled input into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell elements. The service requires no authentication, and successful exploitation grants root-level control over device data, configuration, and availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
