Unauthenticated root command execution via wlan_scan
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
OS command injection in Advantech EKI-6333AC access points allows remote attackers to execute root commands through edgserver. The wlan_scan operation passes attacker-controlled input to an OS command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. The default service accepts requests without authentication, exposing complete device compromise to network-reachable attackers.
