CVE-2024-50370Network attack vector

Unauthenticated root command execution via edgserver

Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024

Command injection in Advantech EKI-6333AC-2G/-2GD 1.6.3 and earlier and -1GPO 1.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute as root. The default, unauthenticated edgserver service processes attacker-controlled cfg_cmd_set_eth_conf data without neutralizing OS command elements. Network access to that service is sufficient, and injected commands run with root privileges, enabling complete control of the access point.
