Root command execution via unsanitized API parameters
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
OS command injection in Advantech EKI-6333AC devices allows remote authenticated users to gain unrestricted root access via sta_log_htm. The sta_log_htm API concatenates multiple unsanitized request parameters into OS-level command strings. Administrative authentication is required, after which injected commands execute with root privileges and can read or alter device data or interrupt operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
