Root command execution via unsanitized profile parameters
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
OS command injection in Advantech EKI-6333AC devices through 1.6.3 or 1.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to gain root access. The connection_profile_apply API concatenates multiple insufficiently sanitized profile parameters into operating-system commands. Successful exploitation requires a highly privileged authenticated session and grants unrestricted control of the wireless access point.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
