CVE-2024-50357Network attack vector

Unauthenticated settings access via enabled default REST API

Published Nov 29, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024

Incorrect functionality in Century Systems FutureNet NXR series routers allows remote attackers to read or alter settings via REST APIs. At startup, the firmware enables REST APIs whenever the GUI HTTP server or Web authentication is enabled, despite the APIs being configured as disabled. The factory-default GUI state triggers this exposure, and preset REST credentials grant access to device settings without prior privileges.
