Credential theft via carriage-return protocol injection

Credential exposure in Git Credential Manager before 2.6.1 allows remote attackers to steal credentials via malicious repository URLs. GCM's StreamReader-based parser treats a lone carriage return as a line terminator while Git preserves it in a value, letting an injected host field replace the intended lookup target. Exploitation requires a user to perform an authenticated operation against an attacker-controlled repository, after which Git sends a credential stored for another remote to the attacker's host.
