Plugin settings reset via missing nonce validation
Published Jul 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
CSRF in CreativeMinds CM Search And Replace before 1.3.9 allows remote attackers to reset plugin settings via a forged request. The cmodsar_settings handler accepts a POST containing cmodsar_pluginCleanup and performs database cleanup without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator who is already logged in to open attacker-controlled content, and the demonstrated consequence is loss of the plugin configuration.
