Stored XSS via unescaped alphabet-index setting
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Stored XSS in CreativeMinds CM Tooltip Glossary before 4.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via plugin settings. The Glossary Index Page’s Letters in alphabetic index setting stores an injected closing tag and script payload without sanitization or output escaping, then emits it on the public glossary page. Administrator-level access is required, and execution occurs when another user visits that glossary page, including where unfiltered_html is disabled.
