Local service interruption via invalid rbtree removal
Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in Linux 6.11 through 6.11.5 allows local users to interrupt kernel operation via a failed namespace copy. The copy-failure path calls free_mnt_ns() before the new namespace node enters the rbtree, causing cleanup to erase an unlinked node. Low-privilege local access and a mount-namespace copy failure are required; published sources do not specify whether the result is a hang, crash, or reboot.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
