CVE-2024-50158

Local memory corruption via unguarded pacing stats copy

Published Nov 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Linux 6.6 before 6.6.59 and 6.7 through 6.12-rc3 allows local users to corrupt memory via RDMA stats. bnxt_re_ib_get_hw_stats calls bnxt_re_copy_db_pacing_stats when doorbell pacing is set without verifying that the adapter is GenP5 or P7, overrunning the exported statistics array. The path requires a loaded bnxt_re driver on an affected Broadcom adapter and a local sysfs-counter read or RDMA statistics netlink request; no remote traffic reaches it.
