CVE-2024-5012Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via unauthenticated GetWindowsCredential endpoint

Published Jun 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Missing authentication in WhatsUp Gold before 2023.1.3 allows remote attackers to read Windows credentials from its Credential Library. The WUGDataAccess.Credentials API endpoint returns stored Windows credentials through GetWindowsCredential without first authenticating the request. Network access to the WhatsUp Gold server is sufficient; exploitation exposes saved credentials but does not alter data or interrupt service.
