CVE-2024-5011Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded chart-point creation

Published Jun 25, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Uncontrolled resource consumption in WhatsUp Gold 2023.1.0 through 2023.1.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via HTTP. The unauthenticated TestController Chart action accepts an attacker-controlled pieces count and uses it as the bound for chart-point creation without a limit. Repeated requests with a large count consume CPU until the monitoring web application becomes unavailable; no account or user interaction is required.
