CVE-2024-50108

Transient display blackout via unsupported PSR-SU enablement

Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

Display availability flaw in Linux from 5.19 allows local users to interrupt output on systems with a Parade 08-01 TCON. The AMD display power helper permits PSR-SU for that controller, causing dmub_psr_enable() to emit a kernel warning and blank the screen. Reachability requires the specific AMD display and TCON combination during boot or fullscreen VA-API video; the reported interruption lasts about one second.
