CVE-2024-50053Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unencoded task attachment rendering

Published Mar 21, 2025 · Updated May 5, 2025

Stored XSS in ManageEngine help-desk products allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through task attachments. The Add Task form accepts a malicious HTML attachment, and client-side rendering fails to encode its data before another user's browser displays it. Exploitation requires add or edit access to tasks and interaction by another technician or administrator, placing script execution in that viewer's session.
