Stored XSS via forged administrator settings
Published Jun 7, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Stored XSS in WP Stacker 1.8.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through a forged administrator settings request. The settings_pocket_poster submission accepts wpstacker_pocket_consumer_key and wpstacker_edit without a CSRF nonce, sanitization, or output escaping. An administrator must open attacker-controlled HTML that submits the form; the stored payload then executes in affected site pages.
