CVE-2024-50029

Kernel memory corruption via stale Bluetooth connection access

Published Oct 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux 6.1 and later allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt kernel memory during Bluetooth SCO setup. hci_enhanced_setup_sync resumes after cmd_sync without confirming that its hci_conn object survived asynchronous ACL teardown, then reads and writes the freed allocation. Bluetooth radio range and an SCO/eSCO connection sequence are required; successful triggering can disclose or corrupt kernel memory and crash the host.
