Administrator stored XSS via unsanitized Custom Content
Published Jul 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Plugin Planet User Submitted Posts before 20240516 allows remote authenticated administrators to run scripts in visitors' browsers. The Custom Content setting stores script-bearing input without sanitization or output escaping, and the plugin shortcode emits that value on a front-end page. Exploitation requires settings access and a visitor to load the rendered page, including on multisite installations that deny unfiltered HTML.
