Service interruption via retained partial DML state
Published Oct 21, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Memory cleanup failure in the AMD display driver in Linux 6.7 through 6.11.2 allows local users to interrupt the system. dc_state_create ignores a false return from either dml2_create call and retains a partially initialized state instead of releasing it. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access, an AMD display configuration using DML2, and a DML allocation failure; only availability is affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
