Local denial of service via IO/APIC allocation

Denial of service in affected Linux kernel versions allows local users to trigger a kernel panic through an IO/APIC allocation failure. In mp_irqdomain_alloc(), failure from __add_pin_to_irq_node() reaches a legacy panic wrapper instead of the normal allocation-error path. Local low-privileged execution and an x86 IO/APIC runtime allocation failure are required; the bounded result is a whole-system crash.
