System crash via nullable clock manager dereference
Published Oct 21, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel 4.15 through 6.11.2 allows local users to crash the system during AMD display initialization. The dcn401_init_hw function calls clock-manager methods without first ensuring that dc->clk_mgr and its funcs table are non-null. Reachability requires a local low-privilege context and affected AMD display code; the documented consequence is service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
