Local system crash via uninitialized GPU pointer
Published Oct 21, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux MSM Adreno GPU driver allows local users to crash the system during failed GPU initialization. msm_gpu_cleanup calls platform_set_drvdata through gpu->pdev before adreno_gpu_init has assigned that platform-device pointer, so an earlier initialization error dereferences NULL. The path requires Qualcomm Adreno hardware and a failed driver bind, including catalog speedbin data without the opp-supported-hw device-tree property; the bounded impact is a local system crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
