Deserialization in Siemens engineering applications allows local users to execute arbitrary code by opening a crafted log file. Their log-file parser fails to sanitize user-controlled serialized input before interpreting it, allowing type confusion during parsing. A user must open an untrusted file in an affected application, and resulting code executes in that application's security context.
