CVE-2024-49824Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via client-side authorization enforcement

Published Jan 18, 2025 · Updated Jan 21, 2025

Authorization bypass in IBM RPA 21.0.0 through 21.0.7.18 and 23.0.0 through 23.0.18 allows remote authenticated users to perform privileged actions. The server relies on client-side security enforcement without properly validating requested actions, so altered client requests bypass intended authorization. A valid account and network access to the server are required; the published impact is unauthorized privileged actions, not data disclosure or service interruption.
