CVE-2024-49817

Credential disclosure via configuration-file storage

Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Dec 17, 2024

Credential exposure in IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager 4.1, 4.1.1, 4.2.0, and 4.2.1 allows local users to read stored credentials. The product writes user credentials into configuration files without protection sufficient to prevent their recovery by a reader of those files. Access requires local high-privilege rights, and the documented consequence is credential disclosure rather than configuration changes or service interruption.
